Alice Marie Ferland of Rochester passed away on September 1, 2019. She was born in Laconia, NH on April 11, 1923, to Hercules and Julia (Toutant) Gagne. She was raised by Philomen and Wilfred Cyr. She graduated from Laconia High School and received her diploma from Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester, NH. She worked for several years as a registered nurse at Frisbie Memorial Hospital and at Davidson Rubber in Dover, NH as an Occupational Health registered nurse.
Alice has been a member of the Sister of the Holy Cross as an associate for 26 years. She volunteered at Holy Rosary Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Council member, Stephens Ministry, and The Mercy Circle. She was a Member of the Ladies of Saint Anne’s Sodality. She also was a den mother for the cub scouts for 4 years.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Bertrand and several brothers and sisters.
Alice leaves behind two beloved sons, Normand and wife Sherry and Gary and wife Monica. She also leaves behind 4 cherished granddaughters, the loves of her life, Danielle and Michael Randall, Shelley and Jason Bushway, Erin Ferland, and Andrea and Trevor Breig. She also leaves behind 5 great- grandchildren, Spencer and Logan Randall, Bryce and Ava Bushway, and Cameron Breig.
She leaves behind two siblings, Shirley Cloutier and Husband Don, and Gerald Gagne and several nieces nephews and cousins. Alice was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday September 4th, at Grondin & Son Funeral Home in Rochester, NH at 9:30am. Services to follow at 11am at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, NH.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Cornerstone VNA/Hospice, 178 Farmington Rd, Rochester NH 03867.

Alice was a friend of my mother. She was such a kind and caring person. I always enjoyed being around her. She was so spry and full of life. Heaven has a new angel. My sympathy to the family.
