Allan SACK Obituary
July 17, 1949 - August 27, 2014
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Allan Sack on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the age of 65. Allan had a profound impact on friends and colleagues and his capacity for friendship was unparalleled. He devoted his life to his family and community both in Canada and his native South Africa. Because of who he was and his generous spirit, he leaves to mourn his fiancée Irina, many family members and friends in Calgary, South Africa, and Australia, and coworkers from his 35-year career as an engineer and member of professional engineering associations in Canada and the UK. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at House of Jacob Mikveh Israel, 1613 - 92 Avenue SW with Internment to follow at the Erlton Jewish Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through House of Jacob Mikveh Israel.

I just found out about Al's dIeath today. Al and I were 'friends' in the UC garden. IN fact, we both joined around the same time. I reallhy enjoyed our time together in the garden. I just wish I had known. I was trying to reach Al to see if he was coming back to the NEW UC location and his email kept bouncing back so I went online and discovered this. I am shocked and sadenned. I will miss our talks in the garden.

It is only today, October 29th that I learned of Al's passing. I first meet Al on his arrival in the Calgary Monenco office from the Monenco office in Bristol. After Monenco we also worked together at Bantrel and Hatch. Al was a thorough and conscientious engineer. My condolences and deepest sympathy

I worked with Al on several project in Calgary. He was always professional and gained the respect of his team and his clients. I also admired that he rode his bike to work and lived life to the fullest. He was a great role model. He will be missed by Hatch and the industry.

Worked with Al for many years at Bantrel. A wonderful man, kind and unassuming, with a wonderful sense of humour.
