Alma Evelyn DOEKSEN

Age 90 Resident of Eagan, MN Died peacefully on July 25th, 2013 at Lyngblomsten Care Center, St. Paul, MN. Alma was born in Pipestone, MN on September 30th, 1922 to Albert & Magna Thompson. As a young girl, she moved with her mother to Luverne, MN where she attended school, graduating from Luverne High School. On March 14th, 1942, she married the love of her life, Peter Doeksen. While in Luverne, she enjoyed dedicated work as a Nursing Assistant at the Mary Jane Brown Home. In 1970, they moved to Eagan, MN, where she lived until her passing. She took pride in her home, family, and numerous dear friends. Survived by her 6 children, Donald Doeksen of St. Paul, MN; Patricia (Garlan) Hulbert of Lewiston, MN; Linda (Robert) Christensen of Sioux Falls, SD; Sharon Becker of Sioux Falls, SD; Diane (Kevin) Erickson of Rochester, MN and Jodi (Gary) Messerich of Eagan, MN; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bev (Duane) Johnson of Tyler, MN; and one brother, Marlin (Audrey) Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD. Preceded in death by her husband, Peter; parents; great-grandchild, Lynn Zimmer; her sister, Mabel Boland; and two brothers, Albert Thompson and George Carsrud. Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, July 30th, at Christ Lutheran Church (1930 Diffley Rd, Eagan). Visitations will be Monday, July 29th, from 6-8PM at Klecatskys & Son's Funeral Home (1580 Century Pt. Rd., Eagan) and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment to follow at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
