To the Mosi family,
We extend our deepest sympathy at Al’s passing.
My husband and I live in the Old Virginia Manor area and, although Al was not our mailman, I saw him on daily walks, and he always brightened my day. He was a legendary local mail carrier, caring and kind, with a good word for everyone. I remember daily chats with Al very fondly, and missed him long after he retired.
Al went far beyond the call of duty in his daily work. I have seen him help an elderly woman to her Access ride and pick up a baby bird from the sidewalk and return it to safety. He excelled at acts of kindness that make such a diffence in life. It was my pleasure to write a story on him for the Post-Gazette.
I know that his family came first with him, because he spoke of you all with such love and pride. We wish you comfort in your grief, and hope that in time, only good memories will prevail.
Al really enriched my life and I am thankful he was put on my path.
May God strengthen and sustain his treasured family at this difficult time.

"Uncle Al" was my neighbor my whole childhood and for awhile after I got married. He was my Godfather and a huge part of my life. He was always so generous with his time and his eggs! I will miss him greatly.
