Amy Karen Jennings of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 83. Amy was one of five children born to Martin and Ragna Berg in Claresholm, AB, and was proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was a terrific cook and always made sure that her mother's sausage, lefse and Norwegian cookies graced the Christmas Eve table. She, and her late husband Roy, had legions of wonderful friends and entertained extensively at their cabin at Gull Lake in the summer and at their home in Borrego Springs, California where they escaped the chilly Calgary winters. Over the years Amy volunteered for the YWCA, the Canadian Cancer Society and Heritage Park. She leaves behind a family who adored her, sons and daughters-in- law, Gary and Eileen, Bill and Rhonda; daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Peter, daughter Karen; grandchildren, Andrea (Shane), Shelley, Brandy (Steve), Brittany (Dave), Meagan (Ryan), and Justin; six great-grandchildren, Madyson, Steven, Taylor, Christopher, Aiden, and Will; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Barry Martin in 1957 and her husband Roy in 2011. A celebration of life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Sunil Verma and Adriana Matutino from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, and dear friend and physiotherapist extraordinaire Pat Clayton. In living memory of Amy Jennings, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
