My name is Andrew Tucker I'm a sir a Winfield city high school in Winfield Alabama. My government teacher has asked me to find someone to write to and i chose Andrew because he has the same name as i do. I would like to say that I'm very grateful for Andrew because if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be able to do the things we do today. I'm very active in church and that's the main reason that I'm thank for the men and women that are willing to go and serve for the United States. I also would like to join the U.S. coast guard when I finish high school

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Andrew will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Andrew when I still lived in Wallingford as a young child. He went out of his way to be my friend when I was shy little kid. I recall running into him again later when we were just a little bit older and he did the same. Although we didn't remain close as we got older, his friendship always meant a lot. I have no doubt that he touched many other lives the same way over the years.

I will never forget him running around in the yard at your house in South Miami when he was 4 or 5. He was running and jumping at breakneck speed. March 22, 2013

Dear Helen,
We heard about Andrew through friends on Facebook and am so very grateful for social media right now. It is agonizingly poignant to read how Andrew grew to be such an amazing and successful young man, but not surprising. His intelligence was evident very early on, which were the years that I knew him. Some of us have traveled light years from Clinton Place but remain connected through the children. I very much admire you and admire Andrew for his heroism. You are both heroes. I extend my sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to you both for Andrew and his service. The loss of him is great and hardest to bear, but you both did extraordinarily well, and I hope your success, your enduring strength and the love of your family keeps you going.

Best wishes,
Rosemarie Cresswell (mom of Joanna and Stephen, formerly of 30 Clinton Place)

March 15, 2013

Dear family of Capt. Andrew Pederson-Keel,

God IS at work here…and I've incredible faith in the “PLAN”…but that doesn't displace the grief…nor should it. You must grieve…allow yourself the sadness and all that attends that! As a veteran and a “Friends of Electric Boat” Troop Supporter, I keep all our troops in harm's way, in daily prayer; I've used the following in the past as a grief enabler, and offer it, along with my sincerest ongoing prayers for your entire family. May God Bless and keep you all close during this truly sad time. And know we all appreciate the gift that is these fine, young heroes…and its cost!!! Email me via Contact Me and I'd be happy to forward this entry formatted for saving.

When my mother died, even after a years-long battle with cancer, I was shattered by the loss…inconsolable…she was my mentor! I like to think that I got my character from my father, but my mind and its capacity from m'dear sainted mother!!! BUT, "If your faith assures you she's in heaven, then what are the tears all about?!?" I hold eternity with My God dearly close...a cherished and hard-won prize...but, in the interim, that answer lies below.
SELFISH TEARS
(I EULOGIZE MY BELOVED MOTHER - MARCH, 1989)

Today we cry...must admit they're selfish tears.
You see...our faith assures your journey's done.
But it's not for you we mourn, at all, my dear;
It's for those of us you've left behind...alone!!!

We share your joy...share your happiness at rest,
Your painful fears now for forever stilled.
You've fought the good fight, passed the final test,
But you've left behind a hole that can't be filled!!!

So, until we each rejoin you some someday,
And, while your memory buoys us through those years,
We'll miss you...but continue on our way,
And, from time to time, we'll cry our selfish tears!!!

My sincerest condolences…my fondest prayers for peace and strength…

This is heartbreaking. I met and knew Andy from South Miami. He truly epitomized "an officer and a gentleman". He was funny and humble, I had no idea his family was so distinguished in Texas. My condolences to his mother. The world has lost a good man. At least I have my memory of him enjoying bike riding, going faster than car traffic.

Comrade in Arms

March 14, 2013

He closed his eyes and felt the rushing air,
The whispered secrets of his ebbing tide.
Angelic fingers gently brushed his hair.
His errant spirit fled, his body died.

Now what majestic visions fill his view,
What brilliant stars to light him on his way.
His soul set free, in lofty spiral flew
Leaving behind a useless hulk of clay.

Winging his way across celestial heights,
Traveling onwards in a heavenly sea,
Marveling at the wonder of such sights,
He claims his portion of Eternity.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fiancée.
