Angel De Jesus Pedraza May 7, 1986 - March 22, 2007 Beloved son, brother, family member to many, and special friend to all, Angel Pedraza, a wonderful person in life who touched the hearts of many, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Austin, Texas. He is survived by, mother, Maria M. Pedraza; father, Rudolph Pedraza; maternal grandmother, Maria Leyva; brothers, Juan Rudolph Pedraza and Joseph Noah Pedraza; and sister, Evelyn Marie Pedraza. Angel graduated from Reagan High School and attended the University of Texas' Department of Radio, Television, and Film while double-majoring in philosophy. His passion and career aspiration was filmmaking. He was co-founder of Raider Films, Don Juan Productions and a veteran of the Austin Film Society's Youth Film initiative who became the first beneficiary of an AFS scholarship for demonstrated artistic potential, strength of character and dedication to the art and craft of filmmaking. He was active since middle school in the University Outreach Center-Austin program as a participant, tutor, mentor and program assistant. He was also involved with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) youth chapter. Angel was a motivational speaker, an inspiration, and a positive role model in everything he did. He strove for the best not only in himself, but he assisted and motivated other to do so for themselves, as well. Although he had many interests and talents, his overriding concern was to be able to use his education and talents in a way that would contribute to society and would allow others to become empowered. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family and many friends. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Monday, March 26, 2007, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 12 noon - 9:00 p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at Angel Funeral Home, 1600 S. First, Austin, Texas.

even though i dont have many memories to choose from, rememberin your smile is enough for me. your in my thoughts and prayers, and i know God has someone great on His side. just bein able to say i knew you at some point in my life, i know God blessed me with your presence.

Angel, You will be missed greatly. You have had a great influence on my son Marco. He will always remember when you invited him to sit in on a lecture at UT. This was a great experience for him. As he worked with you as a Jr. Program Assistant he was also learning about the visions you had for our culture. He sees your visions, hopes and dreams. You have left Marco with alot to accomplish. From what I learned about you from your family,friends and Marco I know I will see alot of you in him as he grows. I thank you and your loving family for sharing you with all of us.
