Angelo John Gentis
Angelo John Gentis, 34, of Bethlehem, PA, reposed in the Lord on January 25, 2014 at his residence in the presence of family and friends. Angelo was the husband of Aggeliki M. (Varvarelis) Gentis, they would have been married 14 years on July 9. Angelo was born in Bethlehem on February 6, 1979, son of Irini (Kefalas) Gentis and the late John Gentis, who died in 2010. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1997 and from Lehigh University with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 2001. Later he received his masters in Engineering from Lehigh. Angelo worked as an electrical engineer at Lutron Electronics for 12 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem and enjoyed both his community work as a Sunday school teacher, member of the Iconography Committee, as well as being an accomplished artist in Byzantine Iconography. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and affable friend. His wonderful personality and presence will be missed by all those blessed to have known him. Survivors: Wife, Aggeliki; one daughter, Irini; and two sons, Yianni and Mihali; mother, Irini Gentis; brother, Athanasios J. Gentis, his wife, Annie; sister, Maria, her husband, George Halas, along with their three daughters; aunts; uncles; cousins; extended family, including Rev. Fr. Michael and Presvytera Varvarelis and their family. Services: Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem. The viewing will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, 10 to 11 a.m., in the Cathedral. Funeral arrangements are by the John F. Herron Funeral Home in Bethlehem.
