Mr. Angelo P. Silva, 76, of Waterbury, formerly a long time resident of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 28, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved widower of Maria Isabel (Vilar) Silva who passed away on December 1, 2014.

Angelo was born in Oleiros, Portugal on December 25, 1938, son of the late Manuel and Maria (Joaquina) Pereira. He served in the Portuguese Army. He built machinery in Portugal before settling to Naugatuck in 1978. He worked at Rondo Packaging of Naugatuck for over 20 years retiring in 2010. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member and former president of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa Inc. of Naugatuck. He loved his vegetable garden and growing grapes from his grape vine in which he made homemade wine.

He is survived by a son, Americo Silva and his wife Lisa of Naugatuck. a daughter, Angela Sousa and her husband Mario of Waterbury, a son-in-law Fernando Pires who lost his wife Paula (Silva) Pires on May 3, 2015 of Oxford , six grandchildren, Ethan and Ava Silva, Jeremy and Ashley Pires, and Brandon and Cecilia Sousa, two brothers, Fernando Pereira Da Silva, and Jose Pereira Da Silva and two sisters, Fernanda Maria Da Silva and Maria Madalena Da Silva all of Portugal, several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday June 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury.
