Ann Cortopassi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 22 to Apr. 23, 2017.
Ann Cortopassi, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt and friend, passed away on April 10, 2017 at the age of 87. A 54-year resident of Sacramento, she was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Italian immigrant parents Domenico and Margherita Bergero. Ann grew up on her parents' truck farm, helping in the fields while her brothers were away during the war. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1948, and worked as a bank teller before marrying Andrew Cortopassi in 1950. They moved to Tracy, California to begin married life, and spent 43 years together before Andrew passed away in 1993. Ann was a PTA volunteer when her children were young, helping out in the classroom and school library. She later became an active member of the St. Philomene Women's Guild, giving many hours to the church community. Ann loved her family, and was happiest with a full house and everyone around the dining room table. She enjoyed cooking, reading, needlework, crafts and gardening, and spent as much time as she could out in the yard with her flowers. She is survived by her loving children, sons Larry (Carol), Joe (Denise Lau) and Ron, and daughter Kathryn; grandchildren Heather Diaz (Henry), Daniel (Amanda), Mikaela and Colin; great-grandchildren Kennedy and Daniel; sister Mary Mulvihill (Robert); sister-in-law Anita Bergero; and many nieces and nephews. Services are being arranged by Lind Brothers Funeral Home and will be held 11am, Wednesday, April 26 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Citrus Heights. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Disabled American Veterans or The American Heart Association.
