Anna Mae Amrhein-Stasko

ADRIAN - Anna Mae Amrhein-Stasko, of Adrian, Mich., passed away peacefully Feb. 21, 2018, with family by her side under the care of Hospice of Lenawee in her home at Brookdale. She was 92 years young.
Annie was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Deerfield, Mich., to Charles and Victoria (Roe) Amrhein. Annie married Paul (Hank) Ruff on Feb. 15, 1941, who preceded her in death. Annie married Phil Stasko on May 19, 1979, who preceded her in death. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Butch Amrhein; sister, Carol Allam; daughter, Charlotte; son, Thomas Ruff; and a great-granddaughter. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Tina Dillaha, Anne Yoder, Thomas Ruff, Janee Clymer, Julie Clymer, Brad Griffin and Lyndsey Knaus; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosalie Bolander; several nieces and nephews as well as her adopted family of Duaine and Elaine Hunt.
Annie had an impressive work ethic; she put that to use in World War II as a welder. Her true passion was building, remodeling and decorating homes. She was also a fabulous cook and baker and loved to entertain guests. She had numerous hobbies which included gardening, bowling and playing cards. She lived in Florida for quite some time and spoke often about moving back but we are so very glad she stayed here with us, she has touched so many lives.
Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, March 3, 2018, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Highway, Adrian, Mich. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the luncheon for Annie and her husband, Felix "Phil," in East Rome Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or the Lenawee Humane Society.
