Anna Mae Lohr, 85, of Decker Street, Monongahela, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home. She was born March 26, 1917, in Hazelwood, a daughter of the late Daniel and Florence Tilbrook Wible. She was surrounded by a loving family and cherished by many friends. Mrs. Lohr was a member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church of Monongahela. She was a 1935 graduate of Monongahela High School, and a graduate of California Teachers College (now California University of Pennsylvania), where she received her degree in elementary education. She taught for 25 years before retiring from Waverly School in Monongahela. She was a former member of the Civil Defense Corps during World War II, a former member of the Fine Arts Club of Monongahela, a member of Mon Valley Chapter 108 Eastern Star, and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Mrs. Lohr was the inventory control officer at "Yesterday's Best" in New Eagle and loved every minute of it. She was a feisty lady who never gave in to adversity and always knew she could handle anything. Her husband, Russell "Gumpy" Lohr, died March 20, 1979. Surviving are one sister, Loris Crisafulli of Monongahela; one brother, Daniel Wible Jr. and wife Eleanor of Monongahela; one niece, Becky Wible Skoug; two nephews, Dan Crisafulli and Douglas Wible; one great-nephew, Kenneth Skoug IV. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME, 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond Ursin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Carroll Township. Memorial gifts may be made to Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, Howard Street, Monongahela, Pa. 15063.
