I knew Anne in college. I thought of her often over the years and was saddened to read about her death. I still remember tubing with her on an icy-cold afternoon. I was terrified; she was exuberant. It was characteristic of her, I thought, to find excitement and joy in all that she did.
In my tradition, we sometimes chant for those who have died. We will put her name on the altar. Please accept my condolences.

I remember Ms. Anne Humphreys as a beautiful young woman who had tremendous enthusiasm. She was always friendly and said hello. Her family lived right down the street from me in Mt. Lebanon. In fact, she was friends with my sister Ginny (Hays) Craven. Ms. Craven also has signed the Guest Book on another page. I concur with her observations too.
Ginny gave me the sad news today, so I wanted to add wonderful reflections here. My thoughts, prayers, condolences and best wishes go to all in and associated with the Humphreys' family, plus husband Sammy Bertenthal and his family during this time.
Do keep in mind those infamous words from Matthew 5:4. They say, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."

I am so sorry to hear of Anne's passing. We have not seen each other in a really long time. We grew up down the street from each other and went off to school and just lost touch. I regret having not had the chance to reconnect. She obviously grew into a remarkable woman. Although her life was sadly cut short, she has left a huge footprint in her wake.

My deepest sympathies to the family. As her dentist, I was glad to have had the opportunity to have met and known her, to hear about her love of her husband and son, and of her marathon runs. She was always upbeat and positive.
