Anne Bumpass Puryear, 86, of Doswell, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2018. Anne was a devoted member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Puryear; son, Michael Andrew Puryear; her only sibling, William "Abby" Bumpass, and granddaughter, Katey Puryear. She is survived by her sons, Norman Lee Puryear (Grace) and William A. Puryear (Cheryl); grandchildren, Tina Marie and Abby and great-grandchild, Thomas Gentry. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 15583 Coatesville Rd, Beaverdam, VA 23015. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Rd Ste 130, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or Mt. Olivet Baptist Church's Benevolence Fund in Anne's honor.
