Anthony DROOGH Obituary
Peacefully in hospital on Sunday, August 31, 2014 age 83 years. Beloved husband of Nellie (Koot) for 55 years. Cherished father of Carolyne (Roger O'Brien), Nick (Jo-Anne Barron), John (Dianne Moore), Steve (Laurie McGuffin), Anne-Marie (Don Gibbons) Loved Opa of Jacob (Amy), Cori, Joshua (Josh), Jeff, Lynsey, Jesse, Shawn, Jonathan, Joel, Annaka, Heather, Erin, Michael, Hannah, William, Colleen+ and Matthew +. Dear brother of Lena (Jannis) of Sudbury Ontario, Rika (Arie), Annie (Adrian), Corrie (Jan), Theo (Adrie), Tonia (Wim) of the Netherlands. Predeceased by Jack (Margaret) of Stittsville, Ontario, Adrian (Lenie) of the Netherlands. Dear brother-in-law of Corrie (Jan), Janie (Arie), Riet and Annie. Predeceased by Jopie (Arie) and Jan, OFM all of the Netherlands. Tony will be missed by many nephews, nieces and friends. Tony moved to Canada in 1953 and worked in the mining and forestry industry. He returned to Holland in 1958, married Nellie in 1959 and then immigrated to Canada. They bought a farm in Merrickville and lived there until 1975 when they moved to a new farm in North Gower where he worked until he retired in 1996. Tony enjoyed gardening and looking after his peacocks. He was a devoted family man and a devoted member of Saint Philips church in Richmond. Special thanks to the staff at the Civic Hospital, especially Dr. Hartwick and the Intensive Care Unit. Friends are invited to visit at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Rogers Stevens Dr. Kars (East of Hwy 416) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, Richmond on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment Parish Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice. Condolences, donations or tributes may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com.

Lieve en dierbare familieleden
Mijn oprechte deelneming met het verlies van Ome Anton.
Afgelopen april heb ik heel gezellig met Ome Anton gesproken. Hij vertelde hoe hij genoot van het leven. Heel apart dat je niet veel later hoort dat hij zo ziek is en overlijdt. Wat fijn jullie in mei nog ontmoet te hebben bij het 50 jarig huwelijksfeest van onze (schoon) ouders niet wetende dat oom Anton er in zo'n korte tijd niet meer bij u en de kinderen zou zijn.
