Mr Tony Kettle was a wonderful person and extraordinary teacher. I was lucky enough to have him as a class teacher, also English, French and German teacher at Latrobe High School. I was also lucky to be on the Denison Star tourist boat at Strahan, when his brothers ,The Singing Kettles, performed their great country music. A sad loss but never forgotten. Deepest sympathy to Glenis and families. Joy Piefke (Evison)

Mr Kettle
I, as many students who heard of your passing have been truly saddend by your death.
We all were lucky enough to have been under your wings for all of our school years at Lilydale.
You never judged only encouraged us to be the best we could be.
You had a big heart and were by far the best principal we all could have asked for.
In what ever we became or went onto do you never forgot our names or who we were.
we all had nothing but respect for you as you did each of us....
Thank you for making my school years the best...
Farewell Mr kettle you will never be forgotten x

"Fred", the memories, the memories! Sitting outside your office at Kings Meadows High, drinking your coffee, happily letting everyone think we were in strife. Surprising you as you entered the classroom to us singing "By The Light of The Silvery Moon" on your 40th Birthday. Murdering the French language four times a week with you because we couldn't roll our "r"s. Driving you insane as we misbehaved during school production rehearsals. Mr. Kettle, you were our teacher and our friend and the inspiration for at least one of us becoming teachers as well. It was a privilege to be one of your students and to later work with you at Newstead College. Thanks for telling my classes all the stuff I got up to in yours!!
Sincere condolences to "Fred's" family. His legacy lives on in the lives of the all students he influenced and he will never be forgotten.

I was very saddened to hear of the death of "Monsieur Kettle" last week, and offer my sincere condolences to his wife and children, son and daughter and their spouses and children, and his many friends in Launceston and elsewhere. Tony was my French teacher at Riverside High School and is very fondly remembered, still, from his work at RHS in general and in guiding and inspiring me in particular, in 1972 and 1973 both in French lessons and in how to enter and manage adulthood. He was a wonderful role model, terrific teacher and a true gentleman. I echo Richard Niesel's comments here, and will be thinking of Tony at 2 p.m. tomorrow. He is not forgotten.

Tony you are one person the world will miss and you'll be even more missed by me. You were one of the greatest headmasters, teacher and mentors a child could have had. I will never forget you, Colin

A wonderful man and true leader.
You were so loved by every student at Lilydale High School. Treated us all as adults not just a bunch of kids, I wish you could see the influence you had by what is currently circulating social media.
R.I.P Mr Kettle, thanks for everything.
