Anthony Wayne Lanier, Sr. was born on March 21, 1967 to the late Violet Louise Davis and Jack Wayne Lanier.
Although born in Lake Placid, Florida, Anthony grew up in Arcadia, Florida where he received his formal education. In 1988, Anthony and his family relocated to Wakulla County.
Anthony’s love for different animals, led him to raise hens, roosters, and even a goat. He had a great passion for music and was known for blasting his tunes throughout his home. He truly adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Anthony relished going to the beach; even in his final days one of his greatest desires was to someday return to the sandy shores.
On October 23rd, while at home, Anthony answered God’s call to rest and closed his eyes one last time. He leaves to cherish his everlasting love and memories: his children, Anthony (Kirsten) Lanier, Jr., Kayla (Justin) Richard, and Brittany (Jordan) Smith; his grandchildren, Hazleigh Smith, Waylan Smith, Aiyanna Richard, and Amirah Richard; his siblings, Tammy (Bob) Nichols, Timothy (Susan) Phipps, Tena (Ben Bailey) Lanier, Theresa Mazza, Taffy Smith, Olen (Cathy) Lanier, Vern Lanier and Phil Lanier; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Wayne Lanier and Violet Louis Davis; his sister, Tracey Garcia and His brother, Alan Smith.

Tony was a wonderful friend and had an amazing heart and love for life! Just finding out that he’s gone home to his father in Heaven I’m very sad but also know I will see him again one day. His greatest treasure in life were his kids and family. He’s talked about them constantly! We will miss you so much Tony! I’ll hold On to my favorite memory of you in Miami On the south beach strip. I love you forever I’ll continue to pray for all who love and miss you!
