Anthony Martinez Ramos Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 25, 2024.

With heavy hearts,

The family of Anthony "Tony" Martinez Ramos announces his passing on November 15th, 2024. Tony was born in Winkelman AZ on May 17th, 1949. Although he last resided in San Tan Valley, he was happiest when he was in his hometown of Winkelman AZ.

Tony was preceded by his Father Martin Ramos, Mother Annie Martinez Pierson, Stepfather Henry Pierson & his brothers Billy Ramos, Armando Medina, Alfred Bayze. Tony is the beloved brother of Joe Ramos Sr (Sharron), Loli Medina (Armando), Becky Bayze (Alfred), Eddie Ramos (Tracey), Bobby Ramos, Patsy Miranda (Manuel), & Rudy Verdugo (Alma).

Tony dearly loved his brothers, sisters, cunados, cunadas, tios, tias, nieces, nephews, cousins, & compadres. Many whom he befriended in life will forever remember his caring personality. Most received a special place in his heart and were cherished as family.

Tony leaves behind Daughter- Monique, Sons - Jason (Virginia), Tony Jr, Samuel, Erik (Donella) from his lifelong friend & prior wife Linda Ogas Ramos. He was blessed to live to see his children flourish, and have the time to know his grandchildren Tiffany, Shantelle, Janique, Isabella, Seth, Issac, Somaya, Celicia, Liliana, Erik Jr, & be on earth to see the addition of 10 great grandchildren. He was a loving Dad & Tata. He will be missed dearly.

Tony lived a full & proud life. He was a hard-working man who gave his best to the Copper Mines, the Community, his Family, Friends, and Neighbors. Tony was a pillar of the community & respected by many. He volunteered his time with the youth baseball & basketball organizations as a coach & referee. Tony also served as a member of the Hayden Winkelman Unified School District Governing Board for over 10 years. Tony was a Hayden Lobo from the days he watched his big Brother Joe "Sombo" running Lobo Touchdowns and beyond the last day he sat at Lobo Lane yelling "Go Big Blue." He was a Hayden Lobo, Proud and True.

Tony was an extraordinary athlete playing Baseball, Basketball, Football & running Track in high school. Tony was proud to be Alumni of H.H.S Class of 1968. Tony was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend his time hunting and occasionally fishing. One could contend he loved seeing Big Bucks more than anything, the truth is he valued his time with those he cared about. His legacy will carry on and stories will be told all over the hills around his beloved little hometown. God willing the San Pedro Creek don't rise during hunting season.

Thank You in advance for the kind words of sympathy and support during this mournful time.
