Antonette Wind Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 22, 2016.
Antonette (Toni) Wind, 83, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 in Idaho Falls, ID surrounded by her family at MorningStar Assisted Living Center.

Born in Cantalupo nel Sannio, Italy to Camilla and Thomas Gianfrancesco on June 11, 1933. She was the third of four girls and moved to America as a young child with her family 1935.

On June 7th 1952 she married her high school sweetheart, John Wind, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Anaconda, MT. They honeymooned in Yellowstone NP where they fed the bears cookies through the window of their car. As a young bride, she briefly lived in San Diego, CA and worked at Woolworth's Department Store while John served aboard the USS Kearsarge as a baker. Upon John's discharge from the U.S. Navy they returned home to Anaconda and in 1959 they opened and operated Wind's Bakery until their retirement in 1991. In 1964 they were blessed with the arrival of their only child, Shauna.

Toni was a loving mother who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandson and "Monte", the family dog. She had a keen sense of fashion and was always willing to illustrate the prevailing or newest trends in clothes and purses.

Toni was preceded in death by her devoted husband John, her parents Thomas & Camilla Gianfrancesco, mother and father-in-law Lorenz & Johanna Wind, sister and brother-in law Elena (Nickie) & Fred Petrovich, brother-in-law Alfred (Al) Perna, brothers and sisters-in-law Larry & Arlene Wind, Tove & Don Hughley, Lillian Wind and nieces Linda Perna McNeil and Tove Marie Eustice.

She is survived by her sisters Elvira Perna, Carmina & Paul Sullivan, brothers-in-law Svend Wind and Lee & Loralee Wind, daughter and son-in-law Shauna & Al Hoiland, Grandson Connor Hoiland and numerous nieces and nephews.

A very special thanks to Ray Puccinelli, Jr. and his staff at Avalon Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional love and care they provided to Toni over the past three years, and to MorningStar Assisted Living Center.
