Araminta Pimentel

Araminta Pimentel Rosado left this earth December 22, 2021, 19 days after her 86th birthday. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1935 to Andres Rosado and Josefina Mojica, she was a woman decades ahead of her time. A breaker of glass ceilings, she marched right past preconceptions with overwhelming competence and blazing work ethic. She became an accountant, CPA, and eventually respected auditor for the Inspector General of the EPA. She had the true soul of an adventurer, moving to the United States in 1971 and traveling to dozens of countries all over the world. She sang LOUDLY, open-throated and unapologetically, with her favorite guitarist: Isaac Pimentel Gonzalez, her husband of 48 years. She was fierce and fun, setting set a commendable example of how to live. She raised four children: Isaac, Edgardo, Marlese and Priscilla, and adored her grandchildren: Lucien, Josefina, Isabel, Daniel, Sebastian, Nathaniel, and Olivia. Due to Covid-19, a memorial will not be held in Chicago, but her ashes, co-mingled with her husband Isaac's, will be spread by her family on a beach in Puerto Rico in March.
