Arian Andre Macklin

Arian Andre Macklin was born the 23rd day of July 1979 to Andre Macklin Sr. and the late Unae Williams in New Orleans, LA. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Greater Harvest Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Noiely Paul. Arian was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and attended Joseph A. Hardin Elementary. He then went on to attend Samuel K. Solomon School in Hawaii and later returned to New Orleans where he attended Alfred Lawless Senior High School, where he excelled in football and playing drums in the School's Band. His passion was music, and that passion has carried him all over the world as both a tuba player and drummer, such as Paris, Switzerland and Germany to name a few. He also wrote music and performed with numerous brass bands at home in New Orleans. Arian leaves to cherish precious memories, his children, Arian Macklin Jr. (Tasharita), Joseph and Nicholas Macklin (Nekita), Lauren Howard (stepdaughter, Nekita); father, Andre Macklin Sr. (Christmas); brother, Andre Macklin Jr.; sisters, Unetra and Unell Williams, Akiea Macklin Dequir, Lamica King and Adrina Macklin. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, fellow band members, other relatives and friends. In addition to his mother Unae, Arian was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Ann Williams, Ella Jean Macklin and Ernest Macklin; aunt, Ernestine Macklin; and his brother, Joseph W. Williams. Relatives, friends and all fellow musicians are invited to attend the funeral. A homegoing celebration honoring Arian will be held at The Carver Theater, 2101 Orleans Avenue on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10 AM, Dr. Joseph A. Tilly, Officiating.
