Arlene Greenwald Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 16, 2019.
Arlene Vivien Greenwald, 76, a long-time South Florida resident, passed away at her home on Friday, December 6, 2019. Born September 14, 1943 in New York, New York to Gertrude (Nussbaum) and Adolph Edward Ehrlich, she was the younger sister to Howard Ehrlich.

Arlene lived each day with spirit and grit and on her own terms. She was passionate about family, friends, politics, animals, and football. She immensely loved and was proud of her two sons, Glenn (David) and Mark (Christine). She was the biggest cheerleader to her four grandchildren, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Joao Victor, and Jonathas. She enjoyed being involved in their lives. She also enjoyed spending time with her numerous cousins and friends.

Arlene was currently employed for 27 years at Pan American Tool Corporation. She loved her "work family" and felt blessed to work with great people and an incredible company. Holidays were her favorite time where she would eat, play board games, and laugh with her family and friends. She also loved a good conversation about politics, whether you agreed with her or not.

Arlene will be greatly missed by all her knew her but remembered fondly. Whether it's an Elvis song playing on the radio, going to the movie theatre, election debates, or a University of Miami football game on the tv, Arlene will be thought of and a smile will be shared when family and friends get together to tell stories about her. She was a caring and giving mother, a selfless grandmother, and a loyal friend to all with an open-mind and a great sense of humor. Family asks that donations be made to her son's charity in Brazil, Abrigo Hope (www.abrigohope.org) whose objective is to build and maintain a shelter for animals which will be taken care of by homeless people-providing them with decent, stable work.

Arlene was a huge cat lover. That was typically our topic of conversation if we weren't talking about work. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with her for 20 years, I will miss here dearly and will always remember her smile ;0)
