Armand U. Garofalo

Our beloved Armand U. Garofalo of Clifton Park NY and Dennis, MA passed away early Tuesday morning April 25, 2017. He was loved by his family as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was also loved by so many as a friend. Our dad was the center of our family. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends and used every opportunity to always have a yard full of guests at their Cape Cod house each summer. Of course, Armand always took the credit for the success of each gathering while sitting in his chair waiting for his next gin and tonic to be delivered to him. He was an avid golfer and truly loved the time he spent playing at the Edison Club, Dennis Highlands and Dennis Pines golf courses with his dear friends in the morning league. Armand received a track scholarship to attend the College of The Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. After graduating he entered the Armed Services. He met our mother Carol in 1951 and married her October 1, 1955. From 1955 to 1988, Armand worked for New York Telephone Company. While a thirty-three-year career is not often seen anymore, his most impressive accomplishment is the establishment of Garofalo & Baldyga Tax Services in Ballston Lake, NY. Built from the ground up, Armand continued to work with his clients all the way up to this year. We will always cherish every minute we had with him and he will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his loving son, Douglas Garofalo. Armand is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Camerlengo Garofalo, whom he married on October 1, 1955; devoted children, Karen Hassett and her husband Kevin, Brian Garofalo and his wife, Lori and Janice Baldyga and her husband Todd; a daughter-in-law Christine Costa Garofalo; his adoring grandchildren, Ryan Garofalo and his wife Stephanie, Amelia Garofalo, Kri Hassett and her fiancée, Sophorn Son, Max Baldyga and Theodore Baldyga; a sister, Edith Garofalo Burns and her husband David; a cousin, Roland Garofalo; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass will be con-celebrated on Saturday at 11am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. Burial will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Edward the Confessor Church on Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
