HOLOTUK, Arthur Roy - After a courageous battle, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Art after 79 years of life on March 3, 2011 at the Sault Area Hospital. Beloved and devoted husband of Jean for 56 years. Loving father of Debbie Pollesel, Diane Black (John), Leonard Holotuk and Leslie Holotuk. Proud grandfather of Nathan and Natalie (Andy), Jeanne (Dan), Hillary and Jacob, Carley and Chanel and great grandfather of Brody Andrew Schmitz. Brother of Lewis (Mary), Edna Genoe (late Fred), Allan (Florence), Adele Switzer (George), Steve (Vi), Rosalee Charboneau (Gilles). Predeceased by Gordon (Emily), Dan (late Grace), Anne Pinkerton (late Alvin), Lillian Briggs (Paul). Arthur was born in Rye, Ontario, on November 4, 1931 of the late parents Peter and Rosina. During his lifetime, Art spent many years in the construction field where he worked on many highways, city streets and parking lots throughout Ontario. Many thanks to Dr. Berry, Dr. Shafiee, Dr. Spadafora and the many nurses at Sault Area Hospital that assisted with Art. A special thanks to the dialysis nurses which helped Art for 4 years with his battle to continue onwards and the Red Cross volunteer drivers. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 7 – 9 pm and again on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 12 noon until a celebration of Art's life in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Canon Earl Burke and Henry Gaines officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, SAH Renal Dialysis Care Fund and the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
