Arthur Packard Obituary

Arthur Hiatt Packard, 88, born September 4, 1918 in St. Anthony, ID, son of Owen Earl Packard and Clara May Hiatt , died February 11, 2007 in Mesa, AZ. Arthur served in the Army during WWII. He married Virginia Humphrey (deceased) in the Manti Temple in 1947. Their children are Michael, Bruce, Kim (deceased), Quinn, and Kris. Art moved his family to Mesa, AZ, in 1959 and worked as a painter for Maricopa County Community Colleges until his retirement. In 1987 Art married Mildred (Milli) West Wiseman. Together they served a mission for the LDS church in Chile, later as Stake Missionaries in Mesa, then as full-time missionaries in the Mesa Regional Family History Center. Art had a high interest in the earth and the stars, enjoyed games, flowers, and music, played the harmonica, and owned several beautiful guitars. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; her eight children's families; his sons Mike, Bruce (Karen), Quinn, and Kris (Kelly); his brother Larry (Martha), and his sisters Elaine (Merrill Cox) and Lowene (Lory Saxton); 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Fairfield Ward LDS chapel, 933 E. Brown Rd., Mesa. Viewing is one hour earlier and on Friday, February 16, 6 - 8 p.m. at the same location. Interment: Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., south of Chandler, AZ. Dear Larry and Family,

Please accept our deepest sympathies. We will be unable to attend the viewing and funeral services for Arthur because Ruth is currently in the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
