Arun Saha passed away at the age of 62 in the early morning of Monday, May 9, 2011, surrounded by his five children, his four siblings and his father. His mother, Usharani Saha, precedes him in death. Arun received his bachelor’s degree from Fergusson College in Pune, India and his master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay. Arun continued his studies in the United States earning his Ph.D. in physics from Northwestern University. He was employed at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in Newport News, Virginia for over twenty years. Arun was also an active member in the Indian Community of Hampton Roads and served as treasurer and subsequently the president of the Asian Indians of Hampton Roads (AIHR). His father, Kshudiram Saha, and his siblings, Amit, Jaishri, Manju, and Suru, survive him. He is also survived by his five children, Joey, Neena, Jessie, Michael, and Daniel. They all agree that he was the world’s #1 dad. Arrangements by Nelsen Funeral Home-Williamsburg. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsencares.com.
