Barbara Greevers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 8, 2009.
Greevers, Barbara J. (Nee Murphy) Was born May 20, 1948, and died March 6, 2009. Most beloved and cherished wife of Dave since October 5, 1968. Loving mother of Kristin (Richard) Schneidler. Proud grandmother of her little sunshine, David, and her little firecracker Daniel. Daughter of Marie G. Murphy and the late Harold L. Murphy. Daughter-in-law of Sig Greevers and the late Florence Greevers. Beloved sister of Joanne Murphy, Kathy Murphy Fedyszyn, and Colleen (Andy) Mueller. Sister-in-law of Jim (Pauline) Greevers, Marj (Mike) Johnson, and Carol (T.J.) Duncan. Loving aunt of Mike (Beth) Fedyszyn, Jenny Fedyszyn, Jim (Anita) Greevers, and Jill Greevers. Proud great-aunt of Jimmy and Mila Greevers. Blessed and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of dear friends. Barbara graduated from Milwaukee County School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1969, and spent the next 40 years as a valued employee of Fine Lando Clinic (1969-2001) and Milwaukee Digestive Disease Consultants (2001-2008). She took great pride in being a nurse and was respected and trusted by doctors, coworkers, and patients for her dedication, compassion, and generosity. In addition to her nursing career, Barbara was a reiki practitioner and an ordained minister. She was passionate in her faith and believed in miracles and angels. Barbara never gave up on her desire to live, fighting her battle with cancer to her last breath. Barbara enjoyed hosting family gatherings, singing and listening to Irish music, donating to Wisconsin's many fine casinos, and enjoying time with her grandsons at parks, zoos, and the State Fair. Her great love for her family will be remembered and missed. Barb's family wishes to thank all of the angels disguised as relatives, friends, and medical staffs for their love, care, and support. Special thanks to Dr. Frick and his staff, and the staff of the Zilber Family Hospice. "You are the sun, I am the moon, you are the words, I am the tune - Play me." Visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 4-8PM, at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL. Funeral service 6:30PM. Private interment Forest Home Cemetery. MAX A. Cousin Marie, Joanne, Kathy, and Colleen, today we received the shocking news from our Aunt Eleanor Vincent. Barbara was the same age our mother Helen was when she passed away--way too soon! On behalf of all Ralph Lodde's kids please know that all of you are in our thoughts during this sorrowful time.

Dear Joanne and family,

I know that losing your sister Barbara is the worse that can happen, but the sisterhood of Polish Princesses are always by your side, wherever we may be.

David, You were her one true love. Always seeing the best in everyone, she made me a better person. She was part of the fabric of my life, and it takes my breath away to think of life without her. I will never forget the times we spent together through the years at "County", cheese dip, Murf's special Chef Boyardee pizza, the famous pyrawa canoe, and all our birthdays we shared together. Her life was way too short, but our lives were better because of her. During my last conversation with her to say good-bye, I told her we would be with her in a "twinkleing of an eye." We still have to live out this life, and some day we will be with her in heaven. I truly believe she is watching over us. With love, Gail Berhalter (Brev) Santee, CA

Dave and Kristen,
My heart aches for you, but I know there were many angels that greeted Barb as she went home. Know that you are loved and thought about. Connie

As an old friend of Barbara's sister Kathy, I was saddened to hear of the families loss. Grateful to know that this is truly a beautiful and strong family that will help each other through this sad, sad time. Kathy spoke all the time of the closeness the "Murphy" sisters shared and I feel honored to have known of them. My heart goes out to you all.

I had a rice crispy treat today, and it was so sweet. Just knew it was from you...

Missing you, knowing you are home.

David,

Please accept my deepest sympathies. As you probably are aware, I'm currently living in Phoenix Arizona. Barb and I had been corresponding while Kristin was living in Tuscon, and we both were expecting grandchildren at the same time. Barb and I started working at Fine-Lando Clinic the same week along with Marge Armstrong. I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of her passing. In the words of St. Francis of Assisi "It is in dying that we are born to eternal life", I am sure Barbara is in the loving hands of our dear Lord.

Sincerely,
Angie Hanus Van Hecke

"Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters..." Our hearts are aching without you. But now we have another guardian angel to watch over us. You will be in our hearts always, sister.
Love,
Jean(ie)
