Barbara you are one great lady and I am happy to have had a chance to know you even for a little bit. Our trip to Ireland was my first trip traveling with a group of my female relatives and it was a blast!
You have impacted so many as your helping nature, charisma and intellect was a positive for all that came in touch with you. I am truly sorry we didn't get a chance to meet again in the recent past.
May your spirit remain around us all leading us to achieve much more in our lives as you showed us we all can strive and do much more than we think that we can.

I first met Barbara a few days after the fire which claimed her cat. She needed another cat to help her recover from that tragedy. I hesitated at first because of her age and disabilities but she won me over and I fell in love with her. Her kindness and loving ways, her courage in facing loss and aging, and of course, her sense of humor endeared her to me. I wish we had more time together. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a very special lady and will be missed.

Teacher, colleague and dear friend. You touched many lives lightly and deeply, particularly the children who were fortunate enough to have you as a mentor and guide. You will remain a giant in the field of education and many stand on your shoulders. I cherish and will miss our conversations about kids, books, Teilhard, and living life deeply. You did it all!

Dearest Barbara,
I am picturing you in a sarong - with carribean turquoise water soaking the hem.
Away you go to new experiences. I learned so much from you. A last hug.
