May memories comfort you in your time of sorrow. I am grateful to have known Barb from Holy Cross and have a wonderful picture of her, and I and two other girls dressed in nun costumes. Such fun we had at the NE Neighborhood House and later at Edison. My sympathy for your loss--she is remembered with great fondness.

Dearest Stone Family,

Barb's death will leave a huge hole in our lives. She was the light that forever shone, even in times of darkness. Her strenth, courage, perserverance, compassion, unyielding love for family, friends and life itself is what we will always remember about her. She gave us all a gift, that I for one will forever cherish. My condolences to Bill, Malina, Tony, Peter and Mike (my other son!)

I met Barb in 9th grade (1966) and again at Edison high school. My husband Tom grew up with Barb and shared many years with her at Holy Cross school. I hadn't seen Barb since those years and was deeply saddened when a dear mutual friend of ours, Dan Reeves, called to tell me of her passing. Reading the entries here it is clear Barb remained the sweet, caring and friendly girl I knew so long ago. May she be gathered into our Lord's loving arms. "Blessed be those who mourn for they shall be comforted."

Barb and I met not through our sons' friendship but first through our mutual breast cancer diagnosis. We talked many times about how cancer may get our bodies but it can NEVER touch who we are! Barb's positive, caring spirit never wavered throughout her struggle. She is my hero and her spirit is still among us. We get to mourn our loss but lets also celebrate what she taught us!
