Barbara Ann Suokko

Barbara Ann (Bailey) Suokko formerly of Ashby and Fitchburg LEOMINSTER Barbara Ann (Bailey) Suokko, 80, formerly of Ashby and Fitchburg, was welcomed home by her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday August 18, 2009. She was born on March 25, 1929, the daughter of John and Helen (Kline) Bailey. Barbara was devoted wife of Victor W. Suokko who passed in 1982. She was the beloved mother of Pastor Daniel Suokko and Barbara Ann Kelly who died in 1979 and 1982 respectively. Barbara is survived by her son, Victor James (Jim) Suokko and his wife Susan. She is also survived by her grandson Timothy and his wife Megan as well as her sisters, Joan Hill and Helen Ranne. Barbara is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren that reside in Europe. Caregiving was an essential part of her life. She cared for babies in the maternity ward and birthed angels in local nursing homes. Barbara was most grateful for her Hospice friends as well as the staff and residents of Keystone Nursing Home where she resided since June 2007. SUOKKO Graveside services for Barbara will be held on Friday August 21, at 11 A.M. at West Cemetery, Ashby. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara's memory may be made to Diversified V.N.A. Hospice 25 Tucker Drive Leominster, MA. 01453. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. is assisting the family.
