To Barry's wife and family:
I was reading the UofA NewTrails tonight, and saw Barry's obituary. This was the first I had heard about Barry's passing, and I felt such sorrow. I sat right next to Barry all the way through dental school at the UofA, due to our proximity in the alphabetized seating plan. He was always happy and cheerful and made his classmates feel comfortable to be with him. He gave so much to his profession and community, and we will all miss him.
I looked for Barry in our dental courses and meetings, and he was always so gracious to visit with me. We golfed together a few times at the dental golf tournaments, and I was impressed with his ability to play golf and still maintain that happy and pleasing personality. I feel as though I have lost a portion of my life with Barry gone. Please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences, and may you find peace in the coming months. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely, Mark Evans.

Maureen, Ryan and rest of Barry's family: Please accept our condolances on Barry's passing. We are Nancy's mom and dad and were patients' of Barry. He was a wonderful man and I can't help but mention how kind and considerate he's always been to Nancy. It dawned on me this week that she spent more time with Barry than she has with her family. I know he'll be missed and I want you to know that our prayers and thoughts have been with all your family. We had every intention of being at the funeral, but a dear friend's mother passed away to same day as Barry and her service was also the same day as Barry's, but I was certainly thinking of all of you yesterday.

Dear Maureen, Ryan, Heather & Craig
I am so saddened to hear of Barrys passing. I have so many fond memories of our days in Drayton Valley together; curling, holidaying in Hawaii, weekends at Half Moon Bay and so many more. Barry always had a smile on his face and a contagious laugh and was one of the kindest people I've ever known. He will never be forgotten.
Sincerely Carol

Barry was our dentist from 1985 to 1997, he took very good care of Clayton, Amber and myself for all those years. I remember the time I took Clayton and Amber skiing at Lake Louise and guess who we met at the top, Barry. We share with the Fleming Family in their loss of a great man. We wish you peace in this time of great sorrow.
