Benjamin Reynolds Ferguson

Benjamin Reynolds Ferguson, died on March 23, 2007 at the age of 73. He was born January 9, 1934, at Pueblo, CO, to Ben R. Ferguson, I and Mary Etna (Allumbaugh) Ferguson.
He attended Colorado State University where he graduated from Veterinary School in 1958. Later he attended the University of Colorado Medical School and did his internship at the University of Washington Pathology Department in 1963. He was a resident at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle 1967-1968.
Ben was a lecturer at the University of Malaya, Malaysia and an assistant professor in Saigon, South Viet Nam, before returning to the University of Missouri in 1972. In 1975 he joined the Lower Columbia Pathology group in Longview. In 1981 he moved with his family to Centralia to become the fulltime pathologist. Ben retired from pathology practice at Centralia Providence Hospital in June of 2003.
As a young man, Ben showed horned Hereford cattle in the 4-H program. He also wrestled and played football at the high school and college level. At his farm in Centralia, WA, he raised quarter horses and Simmental beef cattle. Ben volunteered as a 4-H and Junior Simmental youth advisor. In 2005 he and his wife moved to Olympia.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Louise (Ferguson) Hankins of Ruskin, FL; wife, Jennifer Anne (Davis) Ferguson of Olympia; their two children, Dan Ferguson and Heather Ferguson; three sons of a previous marriage, Jason Ferguson of Seattle, WA, Blair Ferguson of Battleground, WA and Ben Ferguson, III of Goleta, CA and four grandchildren, Max, Zak, Ruth and Emmah Fergu-son.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., at the Chehalis Methodist Church.
