Bernard BLUMENTHAL Obituary

Published by Monteal Gazette from Jan. 28 to Jan. 29, 2015.
BLUMENTHAL, Bernard (Bernie)
It is with great sadness that Bernard's family announces his sudden and peaceful passing on Monday, January 26, 2015. Loving and devoted husband and soulmate of Bernice Berg for fifty-nine years. Devoted and respected father and father-in-law of Brahm, Derrick and Luana (Fruchter) and the late Leslie (Fish), Sheryl and Bryan (Altshuller), and Bruce. Adored and cherished Zaidie of Jamie and Jason (Leb), Jared and Lisa (Vesely); Aaron and Erica (Green), Jonathan, and Michael; Ryan Blumenthal, Ariel, and Leigh Gantman; Shaun and Daniel Altshuller. Proud Big Zaidie of Jordan and Justin. Son of the late Jack and the late Ida Blumenthal. Son-in-law of the late Sam and the late Anne Berg. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Irving and Tya, David and Anett, and brother- in-law of Ralph and Avra Berg, Shelley and Sandi Berg, and Rhona Bloom. Bernie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He always said that his greatest accomplishment in life was his loving and devoted family. He gave all the love he had to his wife, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and they gave it back and more. Many thanks to the Symphony Residence West Island for all their care and support. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, January 29 at 12 noon. Burial at the Beth-El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at his son Derrick's home. Contributions in his memory may be made to the "Bernard and Bernice Blumenthal Fund" c/o Congregation Beth-El, (514) 738-4766.
"Bernie, you will always be the greatest and most important man in our lives."

DEAREST BERNICE AND FAMILY
THE BLUMENTHALS AND KAPES ARE FAMILY. WE GO BACK TO THE DAYS WHEN OUR FATHERS BECAME PARTNERS AND FRIENDS. BERNIE WAS ANOTHER "BROTHER" AND HIS WARMTH, SINCERITY AND GENUINE INTEREST WERE CONSTANT. I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR WONDERFUL HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER. MAY WARM MEMORIES GIVE YOU STRENGTH AND COMFORT. WE ALL KNOW BERNIE WAS A SPECIAL MAN WHO LOVED HIS FAMILY DEEPLY. NANCY
