To the Family: Miss Bernice will always be remembered as a person who did her job extremely well. We will always treasure the memory of her warm smile and her universal inquiry to everyone who came through her line --from Senators, to staff, to tourists -- "How you doing, doll baby?" No matter what kind of day you were having, Miss Bernice always made you feel special. She was one of those people you will never forget -- a true original and an ambassador of goodwill. Many of us used to tell her that if the United States Senate were a city, she could be elected its mayor. I am very sorry for your loss.
