Beth Strother Chapman-Brucker (April 29, 1920 - November 27, 2017) Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee St. McKinney, TX 75069, for Beth Strother Chapman-Brucker, age 97, who passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in Lafayette.
Committal service will be at Highland Cemetery, Melissa, TX.
Dr. Dennis W. Hochgraber (Minister) will officiate at the services. Beth Strother Chapman-Brucker, 97, lived most of her life in Dallas, TX, currently residing in Lafayette, LA, entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, November 27 at home. Beth was born April 29, 1920 in Anna, TX to John Strother and Elizabeth Merrill.
Beth was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend & a devout Christian. She lived an amazing life beginning as a farm girl picking cotton to an exceptional lady that loved life, she cherished her family and was delighted when cooking or spending time with them. Beth was an accomplished seamstress who continued performing her handiwork thru her mid-eighties, a bookkeeper, loved ballroom dancing, a swimming instructor, could fly a plane or operate a crane if needed, her infectious smile captivated all who met her. She enjoyed being a member of the Casa View Rebecca Lodge in Dallas for nearly 40 years being involved and holding numerous state and local positions including Noble Grand, and was a charter member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church.
Beth is survived by her daughter Judy Roycroft, her son Jerry S. Allen and his wife Janice; as well as her grandchildren David Allen and wife Rene, Mark Allen, Sondra Allen, Scott Allen and wife Angela, Lex Hill, Shawn Allen and wife Minnie, Angie Schexnayder and husband Jason, Michael Allen and wife Teka, Justin Roberts and wife Rosann, Jeffrey Trahan and girlfriend Lindsey Desoto, twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Beth is also survived by four stepchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth M. Strother, two brothers John M. Strother and W.G. Strother, three sisters Merrill Lester, Mildred West and Virginia Kovan, two husbands R.M. Chapman & Otto F. Brucker, two sons Joe H. Allen, John M. Allen and Daughter-in-law Janet and granddaughter Stacy Noel Roycroft.
Pallbearers will be David Allen, Mark Allen, Scott Allen, Lex Hill, Michael Allen and Shawn Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Roberts, Jeffrey Trahan, Sam Gamble, Richard Snider, Mike Snider, Jeffrey Snider and Jason Schexnayder. In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations in the name of Mrs. Beth Strother Chapman-Brucker be made to Highland Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 126, Melissa, TX 75454.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana.

To Jerry and Janice my loved friends I am sorry for your loss as she was a wonderful woman. I hope you can find comfort that she is in a better place and in pain no more. I love you both and wish I could be there with you Monday in body but please know my heart and soul will be.
