BETTE GOODMAN Obituary
Age 86, of Shadyside and formerly of McKeesport, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. She was born on November 14, 1924 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Z.L. and Dora Friedman Weiss. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Goodman; loving mother of Marsha (Dick) Leffel of Monroeville, Marc Goodman of Costa Mesa, CA, and Margie (Al) Adelmann of Camp Hill, PA; sister of Honey Davis of Oakland and Cecie Spiegel of White Oak; adored grandma of Brent Leffel, Ryan and Jessica Leffel, Amy Leffel, and Carly Adelmann; adoring great-grammy of Mia and Liam Leffel; also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by her siblings, Ethel Spitz, Milton Weiss, Sydney Weiss, Florence Chottiner, Dave Weiss, Sylvia Mermelstein, Morris Weiss, Thelma Hartstein, Binky Weinstein, and Barbara Weiss. Mrs. Goodman was owner, along with her husband, mother-in-law, and father-in-law of Goodman's Jewelry Store in McKeesport, a member of Temple B'Nai Israel and it's Sisterhood, B'Nai Brith, and Hadassah. She also volunteered at Family House and The Children's Institute, both in Pittsburgh. Friends will be received on Wednesday Jan. 12, 2011 from 2-3 p.m. at the JENNIFER S. JORDAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., White Oak, where a service will be held at 3 p.m. with Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiating. Interment will follow in Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery. Donations may be made to Temple B'Nai Israel, 2025 Cypress Dr., White Oak, PA 15131.

We were remembering countless times spent in your mother's company and the special memories that we've taken away with us. From the first time I was in their home in McKeesport (I remember your Dad always had M&M's) to the last time in the apartment for Carly's graduation ceremony, all very happy times with your family.
