BEVERLY COLEMAN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2024.
Beverly Lewis Coleman, affectionately known as Lewis, passed away on July 9, 2024, in York, Pennsylvania, at the age of 61. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 28, 1962. Lewis was a vibrant soul known for his love of music and his exceptional ability to entertain and bring joy to those around him.

Lewis attended Dunbar High School in Baltimore, where he first began to cultivate his passion for singing and dancing. Throughout his life, he worked various jobs in Baltimore, earning the nickname "Jiffy Lou" for his adept handyman skills, ensuring nothing remained broken for long. His love for music was profound, often found singing song after song, letting everyone know he could sing any tune. His loud stereo equipment was his pride, and he was truly the life of the party.

Lewis resided in York, Pennsylvania, from 2016 until his passing, where he continued to share his zest for life with his special friend, Mandy League, and others. His personality was magnetic, always keeping everyone around him laughing and smiling.

He is survived by his son, Shawn Coleman, daughter-in-law Keyona, and his grandchildren, Lennox Coleman and Danell Mann. Lewis also leaves behind a loving family of eight sisters, Serann, Theresa, Diane, Gloria, Christina Nichols (Aaron), Tina, Barbara, Linda and a brother Larry Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eunice Coleman, his sister Lois, and brothers John Jr., Howard, and William.

The family will gather to celebrate his life at Chatman Harris Funeral Home, located at 4210-18 Belair Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21206. Lewis's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and melodies will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved and cherished ones.

For the short time I got to know "OG" he welcomed me into his beautiful home where he and Mandy lived. I will always remember when the 4 of us hung out in the living room music blaring and Kublai Khan TX was playing and I looked over and saw him air guitarist perfectly to the song. It was almost as if he was a member in the group. I couldn't stop laughing and watching because everyone was having fun and just enjoying the moment. To the 2 people they know who they are I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart to hear about your loss. I want to thank all of you for all the good and not so good memories we were able to enjoy together. Rest in Peace "OG" you receive your angel wings.
