Bill Davisson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 27, 2017.
June 18, 1940-December 19, 2017 Bill Davisson of Monroe, Washington passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. He was 77 years old. Born in Seattle on June 18, 1940, he lived in Granite Falls, Washington with his parents, Red and Margaret, until graduating high school in 1958. He served in the Army, then attended Skagit Valley Jr. College on a bowling scholarship. He matriculated to Western Washington University where he met his lovely bride, Carolyn Gjovaag. His dreams of a career on the pro bowling circuit never came to fruition, he did however have a long and happy marriage of 54 years. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Karen Bronson (Paul) and Julie Thompson (Curt); his son, Scott and his wife, Annique; and grandchildren, Wyatt Jarvis, Amelia and Charlie Thompson. He was a devoted family man and tireless community member. He will be missed. A memorial is planned for Memorial Day, Memorial Day weekend.

I'll never forget the time we met at Frontier Village to go to the Sea Fair hydro races. Bill brought a friend from Monroe named Chuck. We took a collection to buy some beer, the fella from Monroe had no money as he had just paid his tuition for an art class at ECC. I chipped in his share so we would be equal. Chuck Close, the famous artist from New York still owes me $3.00 beer money. Sweet memories.
