LONGVIEW — Services for Bill Tevebaugh, 81, of Longview, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Summerfield United Methodist Church, 7078 Tryon Road, with the Rev. Christopher D. Charles officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road. Burial with Masonic gravesite rites will be in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mr. Tevebaugh passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at a local medical center.
A resident of the Longview area since the 1930s, Mr. Tevebaugh was born May 17, 1931, in Gentry, Arkansas, to Eugene Jackson and Violet Moudy Tevebaugh. He was a member of the Summerfield United Methodist Church and Gilmer Masonic Lodge 142 for over 50 years and was a Master Mason. Mr. Tevebaugh graduated and played football at East Mountain High School. He enjoyed sports and the Texas Rangers. He started the Tevebaugh Meat Market in 1956.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ruby Tevebaugh of Longview; his four children, Dwyane Murphy and wife, Liz, of Winnsboro, Elaine Tevebaugh of Stephenville, Texas, Billy Tevebaugh Jr. and Mary Lou Tevebaugh of Longview; six grandchildren, Robyn Murphy, Eric Tevebaugh and wife, Sophia, Melea Stockton, Jon Montgomery, Gary Montgomery and Michelle Montgomery; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vernon Tevebaugh of Gilmer, George Tevebaugh and wife, Alta, and Charles Tevebaugh and wife, Linda, of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to Summerfield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 65, Judson, TX 75660.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, at Welch Funeral Home.
