Billy Hugh Fike, 82, of Mount Hope, Alabama passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at North Alabama Medical Center Florence, AL. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Bennie Terry and Waymon Fike officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rock Springs Cemetery in Mount Hope, AL.
Born on June 17, 1940, to Roy and Willean Fretwell Fike, Billy worked at the Lawrence County Exchange for 30 plus years, where he knew every farmer in Northwest Alabama.
Billy was a people person and enjoyed meeting new friends.
Survivors include his two sons, Joe Fike (Shannon M.) and Jason Fike (Shannon W.); five sisters, Lorene Ashley (Cecil), Margie Vaughan, Peggy McMurrey, Sheila Raney, and Pam Jeffreys; two brothers, Leverle Fike (Debbie) and Waymon Fike (Barbara); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Willean Fretwell Fike; stepmother, Annie Lee Fike; wife, Daphine Fike; three brothers, James Edward Fike, John Fike, and Charles Fike.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Fike, Danny Fike, Johnny Whitten, Greg Harville, Chuck Cagle, and Kenny Porter.
Honorary Pallbearers are Floyd Thorn, Hershel Hagood, Cecil Ashley, and Brad Vaughan.
The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and staff at North Alabama Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
