Blake Ryan Bateson died peacefully in the arms of his sister, mother, father and close friend Andi Jones at Florida Hospital Altamonte on December 14, 2016 in Altamonte Springs, Florida at the age of 35.
Blake is survived by his parents, Brian and Janet Bateson of Altamonte Springs, Florida and his sister Brea Reger of Sanford, Florida.
Blake was born on May 4th, 1981 in Independence, Missouri to Brian and Janet Bateson. He graduated from Missouri Valley College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from Lake Brantley High School in 2000. He obtained his Florida Real Estate License and placed his license under Bateson Business Brokerage, Inc. in 2005. He also received his insurance license in 2015.
Blake was an accomplished wrestler and was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame on October 1st, 2016. He was also honored by Jackson County, Missouri’s Executive Committee in April of 2001 for his outstanding volunteer work in Missouri Town 1855. He was a re-enactor that spent many hours at the facility in his 6th and 7th grade years. Blake loved his family and especially his many wonderful friends. Blake never lost contact with any of them.
A memorial service to honor his life is scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday December 19th, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 220 W Horatio Avenue, Maitland, Florida 32751, with a reception to follow. Dr. V. Scott Harris will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Blake’s life. The family would like to thank all his caregivers at Florida Hospital Altamonte, Florida Hospital Orlando, and Florida Hospital Celebration and his nurse Donna Steiner for all their efforts to treat and comfort him. We would also like to thank Blake’s wonderful friend, Shane Cristelli, for saving Blake’s life the night before he passed. That gallant effort enabled Blake to pass without pain and fear in the arms of his loved ones.
A quote from his cousin Julie says it all: “I always admired Blake, from as young as I can remember. He just had the type of personality that you wanted to be around and be a part of. What a wonderful, unique person he was. From his confidence, to his joy and laughter. He was witty and sincere. His body will leave this earth, but all the people he has touched, will still be here and continue on. We can share his smiles that he brought us, the love that he gave us and the inspiration that he dreamt of.”

So very sad to hear of Blake's passing. Though I never met Blake, I knew a little about him through his father's loving comments. God's peace to all that knew and loved Blake.
