Bob Barry Obituary
Bob was born May 1, 1954, the son of Lorna and Jack Barry and middle of five children (Nancy, Ted, Susie, Dave). He was a proud graduate of Loyola High School, UCLA and Pepperdine MBA. Bob was president and CEO of John Barry and Associates, a family industrial engineering and management consulting business started by his father in 1954. Bob was a lecturer and on the advisory board to the school of engineering at both Chapman University and University of San Diego. Bob and his loving wife, Roberta, were married in 1985 followed by 38 years of joy filled adventure.
Bob lived a full, but far too short life, filled with joy, faith and passionate hard work. He was known for his signature shorts, his love of the ocean, his natural ability to connect people, his storytelling, his humor, his dance moves and being a playful and present husband, parent and grandparent. Bob was an active member of his community, on the board of the family's parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, volunteered his time and expertise at his elementary school, St. Joachim's, and for his favorite charity, Homeboy Industries. Bob was an excellent listener, sounding board, and confidant to family, friends, and business associates alike.
Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta, two daughters Megan (Brian) and Jane (Maggie), and two grandchildren, Natalie and Blake. He is also survived by his four siblings, their spouses, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and loving extended family and friends.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (1441 W Balboa Boulevard, Newport Beach, CA 92661). 9:30AM Rosary and 10:00AM Funeral Mass.

Saddened to hear of Bob's passing over a year ago. I was honored to work at JBA in 2014-2015 and enjoyed getting to know generous Bob and the team. Sending my love to the Barry family. Bob was a special guy.

I am saddened to hear belatedly of Bob's passing.We were friends together growing up on Lido Isle and both Boy Scouts in Troop 37 on Lido.I am impressed with the legacy he has left and all the good works he accomplished,many of which I was unaware of until seeing this.May the Lord bless you,Bob and your family.RIP.

Met "Big Bob", as I liked to call him, at a IFA Meeting along with Ted and their Father John 46 years ago. We became friends immediately. Always looked forward to seeing him at Industry conventions. I remember how happy he was when he told us he had met Roberta. We knew from hearing Bob, that she was special. It was fun to see the funny faces he made when he was on the dance floor. A number of us literally grew up together in our industry and remained friends . He was a class act. Our prayers are with Bob and his entire family. Rest in peace my friend.

Ted, I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I enjoyed working with you guys over the years. It was just a short time ago that Bob sent me a message asking if wing night was still on, I think he was asking for you. That brought back some good memories! I am from Louisiana and met Bob at a convention 40 years ago.
We remained in touch and although far apart I always had him in my thoughts.
