Bob Reynolds Obituary

The family of Bob Reynolds “Himself” of Derby, would like to acknowledge his peaceful passing on February 4, 2005 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Bob was a sixteen year resident of Derby, Vermont, after retiring from the Yonkers Police Department in New York.

He was born in Yonkers and attended schools there, followed by a three year service with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a “cops-cop” and a “mans-man”. He served as a motorcycle cop for many years followed as a first grade Detective. He was a long time member of the Westchester Police Emerald Society Band and Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in New York City. For a short while before he became ill, he was a DEO with Immigration Service in Vermont.

Surviving family are Pat Fisher of Derby, son Robert Jr. of Hastings, New York, daughter Kim Balog of Amawalk, New York, son Joseph Reynolds of New York, son Brian Fisher of Derby Line, and son Michael Sean Reynolds of Lebanon, New Hampshire. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in New York City with a Mass of Celebration of his life and career attended by police from Yonkers Patrol Motorcycle Division and Westchester County Pipe Band.

I was sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I worked for Customs for 8 years in Derby Line before being transferred to Boston. I became good friends with Bob during that time. I truly admired him. He taught me to always work hard and do the right thing. I will never forget him.
