Bradley Baker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 12, 2022.
Bradley Wayne Baker aka "Bake"

Brad went to be with the Lord on December 3rd just after midnight.

He was at home with the Love of his Life, Debra Baker and his Beloved Daughter, Ramie Shea holding him close. His Granddaughter, Bailee Shea, was sleeping close by and dreamed of his departure. All the while, Ramie's husband, Danny, held down the fort so Ramie and Bailee could be right where they needed to be, with Brad and Deb.

In the 3 weeks before, he was visited by his only Son Joshua, and his Wife Sarah, who brought his baby Grandson, Atticus Victor, from Australia for an epic introduction and love session. The family that Brad and Deb built are his absolute masterpiece and meant everything to him. Many of his friends and family visited during this time as well. A more amazing Bon Voyage Committee could not be orchestrated in anyone's wildest imagination.

Brad's unconditional love was expressed through his kind heart. He always placed the comfort, protection and wellbeing of those he loved, above all. From those who were present every day in his life including his wild cat, Gray, and his forever cat Bodhi, to all his friends he gathered over the years, and even down to the wild bear, bobcat, fox, and deer that crossed his path, he shared his soul. He marveled in nature and spent his life getting "out there" reveling in all of God's natural miracles. His ashes will be spread in his coveted crystal beds that he visited throughout his life and had made a trek to, shortly before his ascension.

Repeatedly, his people have described Brad as the Best Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Papa, Uncle, Nephew and Friend that they had ever known. He truly walked the walk of a man that all should strive for. The lack of his physical presence will leave a huge void in all of those who loved him. We will remember him in this way and will feel him in the soft breeze, glowing moon, shining stars and in our heart of hearts, forever more. We are so blessed that Brad persevered through his health challenges with love, selflessness, and effort, and against all odds, gave us the precious years that were said to be an impossible dream. He lived his best life and shared it all. We are so grateful for that and more so, we are beyond grateful to have spent life on the planet walking beside him. What a Beautiful Man!

Born on February 15th, 1956, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brad attended Cheyenne Mountain High School. Deb and Brad were married on February 21st, 1976. Their Love is like one depicted in a Fairy Tale, and is rare, sacred, and hard to come by. It was a beautiful thing to experience. Brad was employed by Current for 30 years and Baja Broadband for 10 years. While he was dedicated to his work, the paydirt was clearly defined in the lasting relationships he created both professionally and personally. He loved his work buddies.

Brad is survived by his Sister Brenda (Bill) Carter and Will Price (nephew) and family (FL), as well as Sister Lou Ann Baker-Skeele (Bill), Billy, Garrett, Brad Skeele (nephews) and Madelyn Chance (niece) and families, who all reside in Colorado except for Garrett who is stationed in Alaska. He is also survived by Janet and Freddie Brewer (CO) who were cousins that he held close to his heart along with Mel and Lynn Womack. Brad's loving parents, Harold and Henrietta, his nephew Andy as well as his baby sister, Pammy, preceded him in eternal life. Deb, Ramie, Josh, Bailee and Atticus are blessed with a large family to surround them, who survive, Dave Cooper and Robert Snyder (Pat) the granddads, Deb's Sister Tammy and Nieces Sophia (Zak) and Lexi (WA), Brother Brian (Angie) and Nephews Braden, Bryce and Austin (Lindsay) (CO), Brother Chuck and Niece Emma (CO) along with other loved ones who survive (Auntie Jean, Uncle Buddy (Joan) and Aunt Stella and more cousins than you can shake a stick at! Remembering also, the loved ones who went ahead (Grandma and Grandpa T, Grandma Carol, Uncle Bobby and Uncle Jimmy).

A celebration of his life will be held on December 22, 2022, at 2PM, held at Fellowship of the Rockies, located at 1625 S 8th Street, Colorado Springs, 80905. This is the same church he was baptized in as a child. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the college fund that Brad incepted for Bailee and Atticus and was one of Brad's highest priorities for the future. Deb will be managing the fund going forward respecting his wishes and in Brad's deep concern to provide that for his grandchildren. Come as you are to honor Brad, keeping in mind that Brad's favorite attire was blue jeans. Let's join together to lift him up in prayer as we look forward to "the Promise" and celebrate a life well done.

Until we meet again, Sweet Brad.

Brad was the best of friends growing up. We lived one door apart and did everything together....he was extraordinarily fun and adventurous. I would know something was going to happen as he would get that mischievous grin and twinkle in his eye...then off we´d go...he would lead us on bike rides deep into Cheyenne Canyon to go hiking around Helen Hunt Falls or up Mt Cutler, or spelunking in any of many caves; or even biking to Air Force Academy graduations. Countless fishing trips together with his great dad, Harold. Teaming up for numerous years of bowling - and man, he was GOOD! Working each summer at the 8th Street fireworks stand, followed by blowing up yucca plants on "the Dud", and neighborhood bottle rocket wars.....I will always remember those great times growing up.
Brad was a bit better at everything than I, I could never seem to catch up. But he always showed caring, compassion and generosity at that young age....when I would falter, fall behind or make mistakes, he would always lend a hand and encouragement. As I look back, I realize l learned what friendship means from Brad, without even knowing it was happening.
Unfortunately we had to grow up and I moved away from beloved Colorado - but when I returned to visit, the smile and twinkle in the eye were always there. And I know they are bigger and brighter than ever, as Brad now enjoys a grand, never-ending heavenly adventure with the Father!
May the peace of our Lord fall upon Deb and the whole family, with the knowledge that Brad is forever enjoying His peace.

I worked with Brad at Current many, many moons ago. He was such a kind and gentle spirited man. I will always remember the kindness that he gave me during a really rough time in my life. He will always be remembered. I can see him now sitting and having a good laugh with one of his best buds Jim McDonald. They were both such great people to know. May God give you peace at this time and know that he was so loved.
