Brian Rodney Dawson, Jr.
'Teddy Bear'
Brian, 16, of Matthews, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital - Matthews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Idlewild Baptist Church with Reverend Keith Whitener officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Brian, the son of Ericka and Brian Dawson of Matthews, was born July 21, 1989 in Charlotte. He was a rising junior at Piedmont High School and was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church, where he played on the church baseball team.
In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his brother, Brad Lee Dawson of the home; grandparents, Barbara Tota of Amsterdam, NY, Beverly Steele of South Bend, IN, and Ralph Siebert of Euless, TX; great grandparents, Dorothy Siebert of Albany, NY and Katherine Kuza of Wadley, AL; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
For those who desire, memorials may be made to Idlewild Baptist Church, Memorial Fund, 12701 Idlewild Rd., Matthews, NC 28105.

My Dearest Ericka,

GONE TO SOON.

I love you Ericka.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss and your pain. You have suffered a great deal of pain over your life and I don't understand why. But, I do know that Brian is safe, happy and peacefull with the Lord. That I am thankful for the time God allowed me to have with such a gentle spirit and am sorry I couldn't have had more. That our lives will never be the same without him.

I know, as you do, that we will see Brian again and it will be glorious.

I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, I FEEL LIKE HE WAS ONE OF MY CHILDREN TOO.IT HURTS ME THAT I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL TODAY, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU IF YOU NEED US AND WE WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU. Even though I did not know Brian, Jr., I remember his smile and seeing him at Brad's ballgames this year. Your family has been in my prayers since I heard about his passing. Mr. And Mrs. Dawson

I was Brian's 8th grade Science teacher, and I am so sorry for your loss. Brian was in my class my first year of teaching, and I can tell you...his smile would light up my room. He added to my class in so many ways. I know that he is up in heaven smiling for the lord and lighting up heaven just like he did the classroom. Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Englert, Mrs. Corell and I would like to send our condolences, and let you know you and your family are in our prayers. I will remember Brian always.
