Brian Maley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
Brian P. Maley, age 65, of Wabasha, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his home.

He was born on June 22, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI, to Thomas and Patricia (Mertens) Maley. In July 1984 he married Kristina, even though they later divorced, they always remained friends. Later in life he cherished his time spent with his special friend, Patty.

Brian called Wabasha, MN his home for the last 30 plus years, but loved to return to his hometown of Port Washington, WI, to celebrate Fish Day and visit family.

Throughout his working career, Brian was employed with various places including HBC, working in construction for Dan Miller, and for the last 20 years, with La Crosse Milling in Cochrane, WI, until his retirement.

He will be remembered as an avid fan of Wisconsin sports, including the Packers and the Brewers. His dream of touring Lambeau and running through the Packer tunnel out to the field came true in June of 2019. He said it was truly the best time of his life. He also enjoyed camping, bowling, working on cars, fishing, and riding his bike. Brian could never pass up a good deal, and he was always on the lookout for his next bargain or treasure. He loved to fix anything and everything he could, bikes, cars, scooters, clocks, etc.; if he couldn't fix it, it was truly broken.

Brian saw the good in everyone and was always willing to help those in need - his generosity and unconditional love for others never went unnoticed.

His greatest joy in life was his family, and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was so very proud of each one of them. Brian's sense of humor and contagious laugh will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him the most.

Brian is survived by his sons: Adam (Jennifer Wilbur) Maley and Eric (Bree) Maley; grandchildren: Addison, Emma, Gracelyn, Paxtyn, Priya, and Paige, with another on the way; mother, Patricia; siblings: Shannon (Curt...Brothers-in-law with Bellies) Shaurette, Colleen (Patrick) Jentges, BethAnn (Peter) Shultz, Daniel (Tracy) Maley, Kevin, and Gary Wolfgram, Tim (Vicky Stathos), and Lynn (Randy) Dehate; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his brothers: Michael and Dale; a well as his best friend of over 40 years, Steven.

A celebration of Brian's life and a potluck will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Riverboat Lanes, 218 2nd St. West, in Wabasha. In honor of Brian, please feel free to wear any Packer or Brewer gear.
