Brian Plechaty Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 13, 2023.
We remember a man whose profound love for his family defined the very essence of who he was, Brian John Plechaty, whose journey on this Earth came to a close on August 26, 2023. As we honor his memory, let us remember the legacy he leaves behind, the impact he made, and the lessons he taught us through his actions and his heart of gold.

Like our father, Brian possessed a heart that radiated warmth and kindness. His life was a testament to the power of generosity, and his profound love for God. He held steadfastly to the values of integrity, truth, honesty and living his life as a testament to the power of these virtues; a practice he embraced wholeheartedly.

Brian understood that being a family man meant more than just sharing a household; it meant sharing moments, creating traditions, and building bonds that transcended time and distance. Whether it was family dinners, vacations, celebrations, or quiet evenings spent together, he cherished these moments as precious gifts, weaving the fabric of love that bound his family closer together.

Brian, born to Ernest and Alice Plechaty in Livermore, CA, carried these values with him from the very beginning, instilled by the loving environment he was raised in. One of Brian's most endearing qualities was his incredible sense of humor. He had the remarkable ability to light up any room with his infectious laughter and quick wits, and playful demeanor were a source of joy to all who were lucky enough to know him.

Beyond his humor, Brian held a deep love for his country. He was a patriot through and through, someone who cherished the ideals and values that his nation stood for. His love for his country was evident in his actions, his words, and his unwavering commitment to the principles he held dear. Brian's patriotism wasn't just a superficial sentiment; it was a part of his core, a guiding force that shaped his outlook on life and his interactions with others.

In 1974, Brian embarked on a new chapter of his life as he moved to Byron, CA. Here, his passion for rodeos, roping, and the thrill of bucking horses blossomed. The arena became his canvas, and he painted it with the vibrant colors of his enthusiasm and dedication. His love for the rodeo community became a part of his soul, and he carried its spirit with him always.

The year 1993 marked a pivotal juncture in Brian's journey. He relocated to Oregon, where he pursued higher education and earned a degree in construction technology. Shortly thereafter, Brian and his father Ernest Plechaty founded EFP Construction, specializing in crafting customs homes. Brian was a man who always sought to better himself, and this determination became a cornerstone of his life.

However, his desire for a fresh start led him to the coastal beauty of Depoe Bay, Oregon. It was here that he met Carl Halvorson, and their partnership bloomed into something extraordinary. Together, they developed Little Whale Cove, a testament to their shared vision and hard work. In a span of just five years, Brian's dedication and ingenuity allowed him to become the sole owner of Halvorson Mason Construction. His craftsmanship in building custom homes, enriched by cutting-edge technology, bore witness to his visionary spirit.

Brian's generosity knew no bounds. He shared not just his wealth, but his wisdom and opportunities as well. A true friend, he gifted half of his business to his best friend, underscoring his belief in uplifting others. Retirement took him to La Quinta, CA, where he indulged in his love for golf. It was here that he could finally take a breath, relishing in the fruits of his labor while enjoying the company of friends and the green expanse of the golf course.

Brian is survived by his son Justin Plechaty, Brian's brother Mike; his only sister Linda Pillard; their respective spouses and partners Joyce, Ken Pillard; nephews Danny, Jake and his niece Jessie, great nieces Brinn and Brooke.

As we bid farewell to Brian John Plechaty, let us carry forward his legacy. Let us remember his heart of gold, his dedication to his family, passions, his boundless generosity and his love for the Dallas Cowboys! May his spirit inspire us to lead lives filled with compassion, vision, and the courage to forge connections that matter. While he may no longer walk beside us, his memory lives on in the stories we share and the lives he touched. Rest in peace, Brian, knowing that the love you gave and the family you nurtured will continue to thrive, a testament to the beautiful legacy you leave behind will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know you.

Brian, my brother, my truest friend,
From the moment you arrived, our bond began.
I recall when mom brought you home with care,
She gave me a doll, and we named him "Charlie" to share; that's
how your got your nickname to bare.

I'd feed my little one as she cradled you close,
Two siblings growing, and love engrossed.
Through the years, we'd laugh and sometimes fight,
But our connection ran deep, our future shining bright.

We'd argue and bicker, our voices raised high,
Yet our reconciliation was always nigh.
Looking back now, I see your love so pure,
For family, you'd go to any length, that's for sure.

Your heart was a vessel of kindness and grace,
Always ready to help, with a caring embrace.
Your love for God, truth, and honesty sincere,
Unparalleled virtues that you held dear.

Your generosity was boundless, touching all around,
A profound spirit, forever to be renowned.
Our long talks, vacations, and advice you'd share,
I'll miss you deeply, a brother who truly cared.

As we grapple with the why of your untimely parting,
My shattered heart seeks solace, a new beginning.
I love you, dear brother, our souls intertwined,
We'll meet on the other side, your memory enshrined.
I love you to the moon and back. Your Sis

When I was a just a kid, Brian was at every football practice on the sidelines. Grey Cal-Poly sweatshirt, light wash blue jeans, dark blue visor. I´ll never forget watching him walk onto the field and give quick little lessons before we´d resume and utilize what he´d just taught us. A good hearted man, an incredible father to his kids, and someone I will always remember. Thank you Brian for all the love and all the laughs.
