Brian Sumner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 29, 2009.
Brian Dwayne Sumner, 48, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his home. He was born August 13, 1961 in Traverse City. The son of Wilma Stachnik and Larry Sleeper. On December 30, 1983 he married Karen Rose in Traverse City. Together they raised two daughters.
In loving memory of our father, grandfather, and husband. He was a man with a huge heart with lots of love to share with his family, and boy did he have lots of family!
He is leaving behind his wife of 26 years Karen, his two daughters Amber and Kurstin Sumner, along with his son Chris (Jamie) Trowbridge. All together he had 6 grandkids Justine, Anthony, Calista, Chase, Spencer, and Trinity. He loved his grandkids more than anything in this world. He liked to fish and garden and he couldn't wait for hunting season to come around, he loved hunting with his family and making homemade jerky. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, along with many aunts and uncles. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. We all love you and we will never forget you.
A visitation will be held this evening, December 29, 2009 from 7-9pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral will be held Wednesday evening at 6pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Please make donations out to the Sumner family, and casual dress is required.
