Brian Testerman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 11 to Jul. 13, 2012.
August 31, 1978- July 6, 2012 Brian was born in Eureka, California to Tom and Kathy Testerman where he lived most of his life. He moved to Dallas, Texas in 2007 for two years returning to Eureka to be with his immediate family due to kidney failure. After a 4 year battle of kidney failure, Brian left us way too early at the age of 33. He enjoyed sports, playing baseball and football prior to high school. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1997 where he played football, enjoyed auto shop and won first place for entering the family classic 1972 Cadillac. He worked at various jobs in Eureka and Dallas. He loved trips to the cabin with his father where they hunted and cut wood, swam in the river and enjoyed the outdoors. He had a passion for dirt bikes; we only wished he could have ridden them more than he worked on them. He always woke up with a smile on his face and had an optimistic attitude. He was great with children, coaching girls and boys youth softball teams and recently signed up to coach a youth football league. He is survived by his parents, Kathy and Tom Testerman, sister, Karen Testerman, Grandfather, James Bradshaw (Pa), Aunts and Uncles, Ryan Bradshaw of Dallas Texas, Sterling and Barbara Ellison of Sacramento, CA, Mike and Cindy Gibson of Twin Falls, Idaho, Dan and JoAnn Granger of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Cousins, Melissa Harvey, Erin Gibson and Kaitlyn Grange, and two people who thought of Brian as their son, Jerry and Sheila Nason, two lifelong friends, Rob Hayes and Kenny Jameson and many other great friends-too many to mention. He made his way to heaven joining his Nana (Margaret Bradshaw), Grandpa Dwight and Grandma June. Brian was a fun loving happy-go-lucky young man, and enjoyed life no matter what cards he was dealt. Being a donor he will live on in the lives of others and was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. See you on the other side, we love you Brian. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Brian's short life on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. at The Elks Lodge- 445 Herrick Ave. Eureka, Ca. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org, click on "donate." The family would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Dialysis Center and St. Joseph Hospital for all the great care provided to Brian. My condolences to the Testerman family. My biggest regret is that I didn't keep in better touch with Brian and his family after high school. Some of my fondest adolescent memories included Brian…..from playing baseball, to riding our bikes to school every day, to our first vehicles. He was a great friend with a huge smile, a contagious laugh, a great attitude and a wonderful family.

Brian was so open and sincere; even as a little kid. I remember him as friendly to everyone, always chuckling and easy-going. Brian was someone who was just easy to be around ... so rare in today's world. It was a pleasure knowing you, Brian. Rest easy.

Being childhood best friends with Brian's sister, Karen, I got to experience what it was like to have an older brother. He even played on my City Softball Rec team the year I decided to manage, bringing a much appreciated consistent attendance and a cheerful disposition. His physical presence will be missed, but his character will live on through us.
