Bruce Baff

Bruce Baff, an Advertising executive, passed away on June 11, 2025 at the age of 86. Bruce is survived by his wife of 53 years, Natalie Goulston Baff, his daughter Arlene Yoskowitz, son, Adam Baff (Maia), and grandchildren Sivan, Eden, Golan, Eli and Owen.

Bruce was a warm, friendly, and kind person, who expressed his emotions verbally and through his wonderful talent of photography. Bruce found humor in all things, even at the most serious moments. Even when challenged physically, he retained his unique ability to joke about things. Bruce radiated an appreciation and love of life.

Bruce was born to Abraham and Mae Baff on March 27, 1939. His father, Abraham, was an inventor who had over 60 patents, including the precursor to the ball point pen. Abraham died when Bruce was only six years old, leaving Mae to raise Bruce to adulthood.

Bruce attended Kearny High School, where he excelled as a student, acted in many student productions and received many awards. Bruce attended Syracuse University, and was Chief Announcer for Syracuse's own WAER Radio. He also created Syra-Quiz and was Quizmaster for this original and very popular quiz show which was broadcast on WAER. Bruce graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University and was Valedictorian of his college, receiving a BS Degree in Speech with a major in Radio-Television. Bruce worked for the Mike Wallace Show, then joined the National Guard. Afterwards, he joined NBC Productions working on Quiz Shows. During the twelve day AFTRA strike, NBC put Bruce on air for all the drive time newscasts and commercials.

Bruce later became Vice President of Advertising and Marketing for the Joseph Jacobs Org., which carried advertising in most Jewish publications in the United States and Canada. Bruce was in charge of the company's efforts that successfully obtained millions of dollars in Holocaust restitution payments for Holocaust survivors. As a Travel Writer, Bruce created "Jewish Travelogue" where his articles were published in many Jewish newspapers and magazines in the US and Canada. Contributions in Bruce's memory can be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, The American Friends of Magen David Adom and Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Montclair, New Jersey.
